My goal is not to just get a cute shot for the paper about to announce an engagement, it’s about capturing the very essence of a relationship. This couple was sweet and comfortable and it totally shows in their images! Yesterday was such a beautiful, warm, breezy day and perfect for Abby & John’s Couples Fun Session at Toledo Botanical Gardens. After driving home from Virginia almost 7 and a half hours for their wedding this weekend, they still looked this amazing when they met me at the park!

God truly had a hand when he chose to put this lovely couple together and I can’t wait to tell you their story with their wedding images soon!

I am completely ashamed that I have not blogged since Thanksgiving time. I have been so wrapped up in catching up from our extremely busy Fall season and working on the new blog I let this one go.

I am happy to say the wait is almost over… I plan on launching the new blog in just a couple weeks, if not sooner!

So much has happened it seems I have no idea where to start!

I think most of the last blog posts were informational about upcoming specials/events or they were of Couples Fun sessions and seniors.. not many weddings.

Well, we have had SO MANY weddings I haven’t been able to keep up! Since Emily and Evan were married almost 6 months ago (whew! has it been that long??)it seems to be a whirlwind. Having to replace Emily is not an easy task, she did so much around here and I miss her dearly. But she has started her new life in Virginia with her husband (my eldest son) and I couldn’t be more happy for them!

That being said, I have taken on even more here in the JPP office doing ALL of the editing, marketing, research, networking, etc.. I am loving it all, but I am only one person

I can’t tell you all how much I appreciate your patience and understanding as we transition here, and as I find just the right person to join the JPP team!

New soft rebranding. new blog site , followed by a new website coming soon, repainting (thanks to my hubby!) and reorganizing the office…

My mind is EXPLODING with ideas and designs and opportunities! I admit, I got a little burned out a few months ago but I can finally say I am back to dreaming, eagerly anticipating this wedding season and looking for new ways to pamper my clients and let them know how important they are to me!

I am doing some traveling for upcoming weddings… Orlando the end of March and St. Thomas again the end of April. I look forward to creating in new locations!

In October I was in Ocean Isle, NC (about an hour from Myrtle Beach) and an hour from Wilmington, NC where I got to visit my  photographer friend Millie Holloman again. She always inspires me and I adore her heart and her spirit! More from this wedding will be posted on the NEW BLOG!

Next weekend we will have a display at the Nazareth hall Bridal show. Be sure to stop by and say hello! I am busy trying to come up with a fun display there!

Balloons. I {HEART} balloons!

Sarah and Lucas have been married for a year so these aren’t really “engagement photos” but they thought: why not celebrate a year of marriage with a photo shoot? I wasn’t the lucky one to photograph their wedding last year, but Sarah worked part time for me for a while and is doing some work with my new blog and a connection was made between us! I am so grateful she asked me to photograph her and Lucas, giving them memories to decorate their home with!

I shoot in downtown Toledo ALOT. Like, ALOT. I may as well be paying rent for all of downtown T town because its my personal (as well as every other Toledo area photogs) ‘studio space’. With that, I am always challenged to still come up with unique ideas/viewpoints as its easy to always go to and fall back on our same ol’ trusted spots and angles. Here, I challenged myself to think outside the box and i LOVE these next two images!

As here, well, Sarah just looked so beautiful in the background out of focus while I focused on there rings to the left of this image, and I loved how Lucas was looking at her.

I know downtown Toledo gets used ALOT, and there is a reason… it is my fabulous and I LOVE it! There are so many great places to photograph and I am grateful to have such a diverse city as my portable studio!

Edie comes to me from Bowling Green and heard of me through our mutual hair dresser. Gotta love word of mouth! I don’t photograph many seniors, but it’s hard to say no when friends are sharing the love.

This is my baby cousin Ashley! Isn’t she beautiful? Ashley attends Anthony Wayne and is a gorgeous girl inside and out!

Ashley wanted a country kind of look so I drove around to a couple old barns we have in the area. The light and the weather were perfect!

Stephanie and Kyle are one of those couples you just fall in love with right away. They are both so sweet, kind and totally into each other!

One of the first things I noticed about Kyle from the start of our shoot time together was how he undoubtedly cares for Stephanie. He was always helping her, pushing back her hair, making sure she was comfortable… I love that!

Stephanie said she was so nervous because they never had portraits made before, but you would never know it because she totally looks like a rockstar diva in all these! I mean, look at those legs??!

Of course we need the ‘traditional shot” mom requests for the newspaper announcement

then we get to do fun stuff like this!

I {heart} intants! I have 2 instant cameras now and I try to use them at every shoot! So fun!
