I am not a newborn photographer by any means, but I do LOVE Lifestyle newborn photography~ I love when siblings get to hold the baby, gather around mom and dad, and I love seeing the awe and wonder of new life.

 

For me, LIFE is all about this: kids being kids. Lifestyle at its best… who wants to make kids sit and pose and smile at the camera?? If I can get it, great, but if they are busy bodies and wiggly giggly,  I take them as they are! Perfectly imperfect in every way.

Have I mentioned how much I adore feet photos??! When our children were growing up I would always compare their feet. I just loved seeing them grow! Kinda like one measures the height of a child, I would marvel at my kids’ feet!

this little guy is typically the MOST smiliest baby everrrrrr, but not this day. No siree! But, in LIFESTYLE photography it’s not about making the child smile or getting them to look at the camera, it’s definitely about capturing the relation between baby and parents, emotions of love and pure bliss as a new mom or dad embrace their child.

For me, lifestyle is about snuggles, cuddles, playtime, buried in mom or dad’s chest, arms, neck… ahhh.. those moments that don’t happen after toddler years and certainly not in school age children. THIS ‘now’ moment, lifestyle, this is what its all about for me!

This is one of my favorites of our time together! I LOVE the look on Jen’s face, I love the cuddles with Cooper, and Kyle looking on and over mom and baby in that protective manner only a father can do.

And, every cat owner needs a portrait of their feline friend, right? Thanks for sitting still these two seconds Zuess!

A great big huge thank you to Jen of Beautiful Blooms by Jen for allowing me into this time of her life as a new mommy! Cannot wait to watch Cooper grow into a little man of his own!! xo

While in Virginia awaiting the arrival of our third grandchild, first grand daughter, I wanted to photograph my beautiful 9 month pregnant daughter in law Emily with her mama in the gorgeous nursery Evan and Emily have prepared for baby sweet P. (before they revealed the gender thats what we started calling her, and until she is born her name will be secret as well!).

Wizo (the dog) is Emmy’s ‘first baby”. He seriously makes me smile and had to be a part of the session as he kept sneaking in the room!

Baby Sweet P will be arriving any day… until then.. I get to enjoy time here with this stunning mama-to-be! So thankful my son brought her into our lives!

Anita & Vern are the awesome pastors at our home church of 16 years, Heritage Christian Church. Anita shares my passion for photography, so when she asked me to photograph her precious family I was so honored. I couldn’t take payment for it though, so I asked her to just donate to the American Cancer Society in lieu. Win, win!

If you have been following me for a while you know I am not a “sit down and everyone look at the camera and smile” kind of photog. I prefer just watching and capturing relationships.

But, we had to get ONE for mom like this!

Totally adorable! And that’s about ALL Sophie would sit still for! Love toddlers!

Sophie is just turning three years old ( it seems like just a while ago I shot her parents, Dani & Matt’s, wedding at Nazareth Hall!) and she had her own agenda that night!

I know Sophie is a bit blurry in this one as mom and dad were swinging her, but I love the look on their faces, proud parents having fun with their little girl!

Thank you Matanick’s for trusting me with this special time. I KNOW how important family photos are!
